Year Nine Coastal Ambassadors!
The Coastal Ambassador program encourages students to become ambassadors of the ocean and the environment in their local communities.
Students learn about environmental issues as well as develop leadership, communication and teamwork skills. Each student takes the lessons learnt from the program back to their school and local community.
During a four day camp, ambassadors study oceanography, marine biology, undertake wildlife research, talk with environmental rangers and world renowned researchers, and take part in fun and personally challenging outdoor adventure activities like sea kayaking, surfing and bike riding.
Students then design an 'Action Plan' for their school and/or local community. On return to their schools, ambassadors aim to implement their action plans to assist in the conservation of our natural environment.
