Phillip Island Nature Parks recently welcomed Kevin Love to its Board of Management. Mr Love was appointed by the Minister for Environment and Climate Change Ryan Smith and joins current Board members to oversee the strategic direction of the Nature Parks.

“Mr Love brings impressive skills and experience to the role and the Nature Parks welcomes him to the Board,” said Matthew Jackson, Nature Parks CEO.

Mr Love operates his own advisory business, specialising in project management, policy advice and governance. For over 20 years he worked at the Department of Agriculture in regional Victoria, including 12 years at Leongatha. During that time he developed major government initiatives and programs in agriculture, food and sustainable development.

Mr Love then worked with the Department of Premier and Cabinet as the executive with principal responsibility for advising Premiers Kennett and Bracks on policies, programs, institutional reform and major projects related to resources and infrastructure.

In late 2002 he moved to the Department of Sustainability and Environment as Deputy Secretary, and led significant institutional and organisational reform, had responsibility for the State’s public land estate and assets and established himself as a national leader in natural resource management policy. He facilitated major projects and led the development of a major government policy in land, water and biodiversity.  Mr Love has also chaired the national Marine and Coastal Committee of the Natural Resource Management Ministerial Council.

Mr Love fills a Board vacancy resulting from the retirement of Ralph Booth in April of this year.
