Our Reconciliation Action Plan

Bass Coast is proud to support Reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and to share in celebrating NAIDOC Week and the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community members across Bass Coast.

This year's theme celebrates the essential role that women have played - and continue to play - as active and significant role models at the community, local, state and national levels.

Phillip Island Nature Parks, Bass Coast Shire Council, Bunurong Land Council, Westernport Water, Bass Coast South Gippsland Reconciliation Group and our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community are working together to present a shared program of activities to celebrate NAIDOC Week. Indigenous Art Exhibition Opening
Friday 6 July 6pm - 8pm
Exhibition open 10am - 4pm until Friday 27 July
The Hub,16 A’Beckett St, Inverloch
Bass Coast/South Gippsland Reconciliation Group invite everyone to the 2018 NAIDOC Week Indigenous Art Exhibition at The Hub, Inverloch.
Entry is free.

This year the exhibition is fully funded by Bass Coast Shire.

Community Celebration - You're Invited!
Tuesday 10 July 11am - 1.30pm
Churchill Island Visitor Centre, Amess Dve, Newhaven.

Join us for a Flag Raising Ceremony and Welcome.
Then share a cuppa and celebrate the life of Ruby Gates - a pioneer for reconciliation in Bass Coast.
Local artists will host art workshops and offer opportunities to sit and chat.

Bass Coast Shire and Bass Coast Fine Film Group are delighted to be able to bring this important film to Wonthaggi during NAIDOC Week.

This is a ticketed event – children and concessions $10 and adults $15 (no pre-bookings available).
