    Come and visit the penguins, see koalas from the treetop boardwalks at the Koala Conservation Centre, step back in time at Churchill Island Heritage Farm and immerse yourself in the hands on fun at the interactive Antarctic Journey at the Nobbies Centre.

    The date of your visit to the Penguin Parade must be booked, however you may then visit the Koalas, Churchill Island and Antarctic Journey once within 6 months of your penguin visit.

Get an eye-level view from the Underground viewing area, nicknamed the Burrow, after the Little penguins have crossed the beach. Start in the visitor centre with a Ranger, who will give you some great insights into the penguins’ world, and then guide you down to the Underground viewing area after the penguins have made their first appearance. You will have about 30 minutes of penguin viewing time.

It is important to note that your penguin viewing experience commences approximately 20 minutes after the penguins have commenced crossing the beach, and you will have approximately 30 minutes to view the penguins from the Underground viewing area and the boardwalks.

PLEASE BOOK AHEAD DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON AS MANY PENGUIN VIEWING OPTIONS BOOK OUT WELL IN ADVANCE. CAN’T FIND WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR? PLEASE TRY A DIFFERENT DATE OR VIEWING OPTION. 

Things To Know:

• This viewing experience does not include seeing the penguins arrive on the beach.
• Penguin viewing commences as your ranger guides you to the Underground viewing area, approximately 20 minutes after the first penguins have arrived
• There are approximately 30 minutes of penguin viewing time available from the Underground Viewing area and the surrounding boardwalks
• Meet your ranger at the Tour Meeting Point inside the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre at the time stated on your ticket
• This experience has limited availability, operating on selected dates only during Peak Periods.
• Family tickets are not available for this experience
• Please allow extra travel time if visiting from mid-December to late January, during Long Weekends, School Holidays or other peak periods as traffic can get very busy.

How to get here
By car: Phillip Island is located 90 minutes drive from Melbourne. Allow a further 20 minutes from the bridge to get to the Penguin Parade. Free car parking on site.

By bus: Public transport is limited on Phillip Island. V-line operates a bus to Phillip Island’s main town, Cowes, from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne city.

Please note that the V-line bus does not go to the Penguin Parade and there are no return buses to Melbourne at the conclusion of the Penguin Parade. 

By taxi: Contact Phillip Island Taxis on 03 5952 2200 to arrange transfers on Phillip Island.

Bundled tickets

The date of your visit to the Penguin Parade and/or EcoBoat Tour must be booked and will be printed on your ticket. You may visit the other attractions on your tickets, eg the Koala Conservation Centre, Churchill Island Heritage Farm or Antarctic Journey once within six months of the printed date, either before or after your Penguin Parade visit.
