Discover the benefits of Volunteering with the Nature Parks
The benefits of volunteering are well known: it leads to a healthy lifestyle, helps build communities, develops personal skills and experience and it can create real change. The Nature Parks’ new Volunteer Program is set to deliver all of these benefits and more to its dedicated band of current volunteers, as well as attract new recruits to some exciting upcoming volunteer opportunities.
The program will be launched on Friday 18 August at a fun and informative event at the Nobbies Centre, complete with guest speakers from Volunteering Victoria and the Nature Parks who will share their personal experiences.
Nature Parks’ CEO Catherine Basterfield said “This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the diverse range of Volunteer roles the Nature Parks has available which help us achieve so many positive environmental, research, cultural, visitor and community outcomes. We’ll have some great displays and a host of opportunities to chat to our current volunteers and find out more about their roles and the difference they make”
The new Volunteer Program has been designed to generate more opportunities, including new interactive roles in the Visitor Experience team, making visitors’ time across the Nature Parks even more memorable.
“Volunteers make enormous contributions to the Nature Parks, and I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our current band of passionate individuals. In addition to attracting new members, this Volunteer Program also aims to deliver extra support to existing volunteers, and we want to ensure they are all recognised for their efforts.”
