Dads and Kids are Happy Glampers
Phillip Island Nature Parks’ much loved and ever popular Dads and Kids camping weekend is back; and it’s bigger, better and more luxurious than ever before.
This annual event held from 18-19 November gives Dads a wonderful opportunity to spend time with their kids in the great outdoors, and this year even the most urbanised of Dads can join the fun without having to rough it. Churchill Island Heritage Farm provides a stunning location for base camp with a collection of ‘glamping’ tents all set up and ready to go.
The adventure begins with a warm welcome from the Nature Parks’ Rangers who will lead the participants through some fun activities to break the ice, followed by an afternoon of kayaking and games. Back on dry land, it’s time to collect some firewood and prepare the damper before a hearty dinner, damper and marshmallows by the fire.
A good night’s sleep is assured on the super comfortable air mattresses included in the glamping tents, which is just as well because the second day is jam-packed with activities. Spend some time with the farmers and help out with some of the chores like feeding the animals before you pack up and head off for some mountain biking adventures.
Visit the koalas and take a walk along the treetop boardwalks and woodland walking trails before enjoying lunch at the Koala Conservation Centre where your weekend comes to a close and your Ranger bids you farewell, until next year.
